Ever tried to take pictures of lightning with your cell phone? This is proof that it can be done. I took this the day before my 30th. Absolute luck mixed with an electric storm!!

Apparently, you can tell how far lightning is away from you by counting the amount of seconds between the flash and when you hear the thunder. 3 seconds for every kilometre.

The iSummit was held in Sapporo, Japan this year. Origami inspired, this year's annual consists of 9 sleeves that collapse and fold neatly into a self retaining folder/box, each individually stencilled in three colours. The flip side to 6 of the sleeves makes up a robot poster when placed inthe right order as an added touch.

Below is a personal illustration involving skating, a new idea for a logo and cool simple background textures that were under my nose the whole time.

A four-step illustration process

Step 1: Take a picture or borrow one accidentally on purpose, convert it to greyscale and lighten it by 60%.

Step 2: Print it out and trace over it quickly with a black felt tip pen and scan it in.
Step 3: Open both the scan and the original image in photoshop. Copy and paste on over the other, line up and multiply the top layer. Yeah, grittier and grundgier the better!Step 4: Learn how to use Illustrator.

The original pic of the Oscar statue was riddled with reflections the photographer shot on a boardroom table. Oh, the bottom cover was a photo comp.

A first attempt

Hey, hey ...

A good start to a cold and wet new year, hmm. Anyways, here's my first attempt at a kind of reverse illustration. I found a pic of me wife and vector'd my way through it and finally got it on ink and paper. I had this brain fart idea that I could water down the ink to get a water colour effect with the whisky in hand. Ah well, everyone's entitled to a first attempt.

Illustrator chaos

I traced this image a year ago in illustrator just for kicks. A little bored at work, you know how it goes. I did some colour variations and got bored with being bored and left it.

A couple of days ago I stumbled upon it while cleaning up my harddrive and decided to complete it.

I messed it up a bit and finished it off Kamakaze style. While searching for Japanese script I discovered that the direct translation of Kamakaze actually is "Divine Wind" or "God Wind" and not crazy suicidal Japanese pilot.

Anyway, that's my two cents worth for the day.

Hello there. Some wise ass told me that starting a blog will improve my vector doodlering. Well here I am taking his word for it so here goes nothing.

Here's something I did ages ago, with some weird aspiration of designing graphics for snowboards. It always starts with no idea in mind really ...

I remember listening to way too much Muse at the time.
